Astra HC is complient with the guidelines published by Sport Ireland and the Irish Olympic handball Association.

Contact tracing is implemented. Attendance is recorded at every session being either training or matches. Players are asked to sign a self declaration statement.

Astra Handball Club is implementing the following rules to prevent the spread of Covid 19 amongst their players/supporters/members:

•   We will always have hand sanitiser available to disinfect hands regularly especially at arrival and departure.
•   There will be anti-bacterial wipes provided to clean equipment immediately before and after every training.
•   All balls in use will be cleaned every 15 minutes.
•   We don’t permit the use of sticky.
•   We ask every member to only arrive to the training/match site maximum 10 minutes before the training, fully changed into exercise gear including sport shoes.
•   All participants must adhere to two (2) metre social distancing while arriving at venues; and during the training/match. ‘No touch rule’ is in operation until further notice.
•    All players must follow good respiratory hygiene guidelines.
•    All players are strongly encouraged to travel separately or with members of their own household only. Every attendee is strongly encouraged to use a method of travelling which has the least likelihood of infection, for example walking and/or cycling. In case public transportation is unavoidable the person should follow the HSE’s guidelines regarding this fully.
•    Players in the HSE’s High High Risk groups are strongly discouraged from attending training.
•    Every attendee (including parents, guardians, spectators) must complete a self-declaration form before each gathering, and stay at home if symptomatic in the preceding 48 hours.
•    Every member must be familiar with and adhere to these rules at all times.
